This video of Veggie Channel will give you an overview of one of the most important congress in the world: The 6th International Congress on Vegetarian Nutrition (February 24-26, 2013).
Prof. Claus Leitzmann: “There are about 7 hundred participants coming from all part of the world. The topic is mainly about vegetarian nutrition but with many implications about health, about the environment and about social aspects. Here today are offered very innovated research data that we haven't heard before. Some of the presentations of course are are informations that we have been known about for long time.”
The International 6th Congress on Vegetarian Nutrition is organized by the Loma Linda University School of Public Health's Department of Nutrition. It is held only once every five years and offers a great opportunity for health professionals, researchers, students and the public to advance their knowledge in vegetarian nutrition.
In 2013 there were 827 registrants, more then a hundred registered on site, which is the highest number of all editions. 35 countries were represented and the major international participation came from Brasil, Argentina, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, UK, Belgium, Canada, Italy, Vietnam, Japan and Taiwan.
The International Congress on Vegetarian Nutrition is designed to provide a review of the accumulated findings and introduces theoretical concepts, practical applications and implications of vegetarian dietary practices for both the prevention of diseases and the promotion of health.
The next International Congress on Vegetarian Nutrition will be held in February 2018.
